Anittel begins rollout of new Communication System to the Tasmanian Government

For Release June 25 2013

Anittel Group Limited (ASX: ‘AYG’- ‘Anittel’ or ‘the Company’) is pleased to announce that it has received project signoff to move forward with the rollout of the Tasmanian Government’s new communication system. The signoff follows successful testing and finalisation of Service Level Agreements.

The new communication system is based on the Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution (HCS). During testing Anittel successfully implemented over 100 new communication endpoints across 4 trial sites. As part of the contract (Announced 28 August 2012) Anittel has also completed the expansion of its national hosted infrastructure to include locally hosted nodes of the Cisco based platform in Tasmania. The first full site implementation was completed earlier this month at the Tasmanian Department of Justice’s Devonport Police Station.

The 5 year contract has a minimum value of approximately $7m with 3 x 3 year options to renew. The value of the contract is expected to increase to a maximum of $17m over the initial term as the current Telstra provided Spectrum endpoints are replaced. If the full contract extension options are undertaken the value of the contract would be in the order of $45m.

Sara Adams, Managing Director of the Partner Business Group for Cisco Australia and New Zealand stated: “By shifting to a cloud delivery model for communication and collaboration, the Tasmanian Government will have the ability to improve employee productivity and optimise internal processes. Based on a Cisco Powered Cloud implemented by Anittel, we expect Tasmania’s whole-of-government shared service initiative to also benefit from the ability to move forward with more agility, flexibility and speed.”

Anittel Managing Director and Executive Chairman, Peter Kazacos commented “This project underpins our commitment to delivering collaboration and cloud based technologies to new and existing clients across Australia. Furthermore this project and the subsequent opportunities that will flow from it, will underpin Anittel’s performance into the future.”

Mr Kazacos added “Anittel’s new and existing clients can now derive the full benefits of cloud telephony services which provide productivity, end to end management, scalability, agility, cost effectiveness and capital prudence using our flexible operational expense or lease packages.”
